Never Again
I have been to the Amphora three or four times in the past couple years, mostly dragged by friends. Although there is a nice atmosphere and they have a rather diverse menu I will never go back. The service is slow and the food is expensive for the rehashed diner food you will get. I got food poisoning the first time I went which is never good seeing as how I have a fairly strong stomach. I ended up arguing with the waitress every time I went about the soiled cutlery and oil fingerprints on my waterglass to get clean ones. Just an overall horrible experience - Suna , posted 09/08/06

Good in Herndon too
also 24/7, and the local cop hangout - so it's safe at any hour. Come join the 2AM study+munchies group. - Alice , posted 03/22/06

Good late night spot
Located in Vienna, VA this is a great late night place to get good food. Breakfast is served 24 hours. I've been there several times and everything I've had there has been yummy. - ß®1@ñ , posted 12/28/05

Agree with the Washingtonian
My first venture to the Amphora in Vienna was a late late Wednesday night in college. The local Fairfax Denny's was crowded and 29 Diner was getting a little boring. Viola! Amphora! The Vienna location is open 24 hours. Talk about good food at ANY hour of the day.

The service may be a tad slow at time, but the meals never dissappoint!. Even the Falafal and Grilled Cheese are huge portions, but save room for dessert.

They're bakery churns out several awesome cakes and specialties, which you can order out. For about the same price as a huge Costco cake, go for the Amphora cake instead.

The only dissappointment is that the cake or pie you may want (in my case, Key Lime Pie) may be on the menu, but is sold out, or not avalible at the time.

Great for college kids and other night owls tired of the Denny's/IHOP experience. Please take note though...sitting for 3-5 hours is generally frowned upon, unless at 3am and you tip extremely well. - Margot , posted 08/07/05
