EN-794 Software Project Manager - Contract - Bethesda, MD
Length: 6 to 12+ months, may go perm
The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) needs a software project manager to support research in the fields of genetics and bioinformatics.
Duties include:
o. Coordinates the full project lifecycle, including defining technical and functional requirements, quality control planning, implementation, upgrades, and integration with existing systems.
o. Responsible for system design, specifications for internally developed or purchased software, system implementation, system integration, and testing.
o. Will be responsible for tracking milestones and producing deliverables.
o. Balances risks, schedules and resources.
o. Coordinates cross-functional teams of various sizes with diverse technical skills sets. Advises senior management on technical issues.
o. Communicates project issues to stakeholders and senior management.
Requirements:
o. 5+ years experience managing the development of C++, Java, ColdFusion, Perl or Python projects (Required)
o. 3+ years experience in Web Information Technology development (Required)
o. Experience working with large databases, statistical analysis or clinical data (Required)
o. Hands-on experience with Oracle, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL as administrator or developer (Required)
o. BS in Computer Science (Master�s degree preferred)
o. Experience with scientific or bioinformatic data a plus

o. This is a 6 to 12+ month on-site contract, may go perm.
